My Philosophy

I’m here to guide you into clarified awareness — to help you access the wisdom already within you, build new skills, nourish your body, and resolve any dissonance between your inner and outer worlds.

I believe in the potential for human transformation and the easing of suffering — not as abstract ideals, but as lived truth. The practices and insights that I share have profoundly reshaped my own life, freeing me from patterns that once felt immovable and opening the way to a more whole, embodied sense of well-being.

My goal is to move beyond theory, integrating the timeless and the contemporary to activate these insights within the rhythm of everyday life. I am here to walk alongside you with care and depth.

What I Teach

I offer yoga, movement, and mobility work designed for long-term sustainability. Beyond the physical, I facilitate doorways into consciousness through meditation and breathwork, utilizing ancient and contemporary techniques to calm the nervous system and build mental clarity. My philosophy classes often sit at the intersection of Eastern contemplative traditions and modern psychological insights. This holistic approach extends into reflective writing and rituals of care, where we engage with our internal narratives for healing and insight.

  • While I spent over a decade deeply immersed in Aṣṭāṅga and Vinyasa traditions, my current teaching focuses on restorative practices, Aṣṭāṅga-informed vinyāsa, as well as conditioning and mobility work. With an emphasis on sustainability and attunement, my approach is rooted in over twenty years of practice and extensive study.

  • My teaching is rooted in the depth of Yoga and Buddhist traditions, integrated with the latest research into wellbeing and Western psychology. By bridging ancient contemplative wisdom with contemporary psychological insights, I aim to enhance self-knowledge and foster the development of wisdom across our emotional, psychological, and spiritual lives. This interdisciplinary approach—ranging from ecological perspectives to modern science—ensures a practice that is both philosophically rich and psychologically grounded.

  • I offer a grounded approach to mindfulness and compassion processes, drawing from Buddhist traditions and modern secular adaptations that have proven therapeutic benefits across all cultural backgrounds. By bridging ancient wisdom with contemporary psychology, I help students develop a sustainable practice for mental clarity and emotional resilience.

Complementing this is a focused study of breathwork rooted in Yoga, specifically adapted for today’s nervous systems. Unlike some "energizing" techniques, my sessions prioritize down-regulation. We focus on gentle, rhythmic patterns designed to soothe the autonomic nervous system (ANS) and transition the body from a state of stress to one of deep rest.

  • I offer writing practices and other rituals of care as pathways for healing. Writing with me is about touching our internal narratives to foster deep insight and personal development. By externalizing our inner world onto the page, we begin to reshape the stories that define us, opening space for both emotional release and creative discovery.

I also lead communal bonding activities and nature-based immersions. These rituals are designed to reconnect us with the rhythms of the natural world and the support of the collective. Whether through shared silence in a forest or the collaborative energy of a writing circle, these experiences move us out of isolation and into a state of grounded belonging.

Resonance from the Journey: Student Voices

“Sati, you are not an ordinary yoga teacher. I feel like you see things in me that I can't yet see in myself — and with your powerful yet gentle guidance, you lead me to depths in my practice I never imagined were possible.

— Christina

Thank you for doing what you do. By being on the receiving end of the teachings, I realized how precious and special they are. And how amazing it is to offer them. You showed me the depth of experience a great teacher adds to the lives of others."

— Jamie

"I've learned a great deal about the mind-body integration of yoga through you and have never encountered a teacher like you in the true essence of the word. Your voice resonates within me even when I practice alone."

— Dawn

A Quiet Space In Your Inbox

In an era of fleeting social media feeds and noisy algorithms, I believe in the slow, intentional connection of a letter. Once a month, I share a collection of writings and updates on upcoming retreats and events. This is a space to bypass the noise and return to what is real—delivered directly from my heart to your home.
